UNTLD Development LLC ("UNTLD," "we," "us," or "our") operates the UNTLD mobile application and the website at joinuntld.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have regarding your data.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Account registration — name, email address, username, password (stored as a hashed credential by Firebase Auth), and optional profile photo, bio, date of birth, gender, and city/state.
Phone number (optional) — if you add a phone number to your profile, we store it in E.164 format to allow your contacts to find you on UNTLD. This is entirely optional and can be removed at any time.
Social handles (optional) — Instagram and TikTok usernames you add to your profile, displayed publicly to users who view your profile.
Events and content — event names, dates, locations, descriptions, schedules, cover photos, and the photos you upload to events.
Messages — direct messages you send to other users within the App.
Interactions — follows, likes, event joins, and other in-app activity.

Information collected automatically:

Push notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. We do not use this token for advertising or tracking.
App usage data — Firebase may collect anonymized analytics such as screen views and session duration under Google's privacy policy. We use this only to understand how the App is used in aggregate and to improve it.

Information from your device (with permission):

Contacts — with your explicit permission, UNTLD reads your device contact list to identify which of your contacts already have UNTLD accounts. We compare normalized phone numbers and email addresses against our user database. We do not upload, copy, or store your contact list on our servers. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings app.
Camera and photo library — accessed only when you actively choose to upload a photo or set a profile picture.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
To operate the core features of the Service: events, photo sharing, follows, messaging, and notifications.
To send push notifications about activity relevant to you (new photos, event joins, follows, likes). You can disable these at any time in Settings.
To display your public profile information to other users.
To surface connection suggestions based on shared events and, with permission, your contact list.
To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines and to investigate abuse.
To improve the Service using aggregated, anonymized analytics data.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos for advertising, facial recognition, or machine-learning model training.

3. How We Share Your Information

Other users — your username, name, profile photo, bio, and content you post within events are visible to other members of those events. If your account is public, your profile is visible to any signed-in UNTLD user.
Firebase / Google — our backend infrastructure (authentication, database, file storage, push notifications) runs on Google Firebase. Google processes data on our behalf under Google's Data Processing Terms. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of UNTLD, our users, or the public.
Business transfers — if UNTLD is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Photos of Other People

UNTLD is a photo-sharing platform built around real-life events. When you upload photos to an event, those photos may include images of other people. You are responsible for ensuring that any person who can be identified in a photo you upload has consented to being photographed and to having that photo shared with other members of that event.

If you appear in a photo uploaded by another user and wish to have it removed, you may report it using the in-app reporting tools or contact us at legal@joinuntld.com. We will review and respond within a reasonable time.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, photos, messages, activity records, and remove you from all events within 30 days. Aggregate, anonymized analytics data that cannot identify you individually may be retained longer.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction — view and edit your profile at any time under Edit Profile in the App.
Delete your account — permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible.
Data portability — contact us at legal@joinuntld.com to request an export of your personal data.
Private account — enable private mode in Settings → Privacy to require approval before others can follow you.
Notifications — disable or customize push notifications in Settings → Notifications or in your device Settings.
Contacts permission — revoke contact access at any time in your device's Settings app.
Phone number discoverability — control whether your phone number can be used by contacts to find you in Settings → Privacy.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to opt out of its sale (we do not sell your data), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at legal@joinuntld.com.

Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (where given) and our legitimate interests in operating the Service.

7. Children's Privacy

UNTLD is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at legal@joinuntld.com and we will delete that information promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including Firebase Security Rules (which restrict data access to authenticated users with appropriate permissions), encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit, and Firebase's built-in credential management. No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your credentials with anyone.

9. Third-Party Links

UNTLD profiles may display links to third-party platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. These links are provided at the user's discretion. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party websites or services.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email to the address associated with your account. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
